Detail: The Emil and Patricia A. Jones Convocation Center (JCC), named after
“patron saint” Senate President Emil Jones Jr. and his late wife
Patricia who was a graduate of Chicago State University, is a $38
million top notch multi-purpose state of the art facility. The Jones
Convocation center officially open in the fall of 2007 and will now
serve as the new home to the Men’s and Women basketball teams, and the
Chicago State Athletic Department.
This brand new multi-purpose facility is 140,000sq.ft and has enough
assembly space to seat up to 7,000 people. Some of the many features
that are equipped in Jones Convocation Center are a total of eight
locker rooms, one weight room, updated training room, academic study
rooms, multiple concession areas, ticket booths, conference and
receptions areas, service areas, storage, and many other amenities that
will make this facility the best that the city of Chicago or the state
of Illinois has ever seen.
The facility is also equipped with a state of the art sky box located
at the very top of the arena with a capacity of about 100 people.
